QUICK GUIDE

How to generate a Code 128 barcode

Code 128 is a high-density linear barcode for inventory IDs, shipping references, and internal tracking. It supports the full ASCII character set and automatically chooses efficient code subsets. Enter the exact identifier that your system expects, keep adequate blank space around the bars, and verify the printed result with the scanner used in production.

Format limitsCode 128 is not a retail GTIN format. Long strings create wider barcodes, so do not shrink them until the narrow bars blur.
Common errorsIf a scanner fails, increase print width, use solid black bars on white, and confirm the scanner supports Code 128.
